Saturday, 21 February 2026

Church of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church (UOC)

Address: Kyiv region, Schastlive village, Lysenko street, 3.

A criminal group cut the locks on the St. Nicholas Church of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church and seized the church. Police and a group of unidentified individuals in military uniform were present at the scene to provide forceful support for the raiders.

The raiders threatened to kill the church parishioners.

🔴 On February 20, a criminal group from the OCU broke into and replaced the locks on the doors of St. Nicholas Church.

UOC parishioners claim that last August, OCU activists held a sham meeting at which they announced the community's transfer to their jurisdiction. However, the legitimate members of the community, having held their own meetings, confirmed their desire to remain within the Ukrainian Orthodox Church.

On February 21, when news of the seizure became known, the rector and parishioners arrived at the church. They reported that numerous police officers, people in military uniform, and young people from other villages were present. Some parishioners who attempted to film the incident were threatened with violence by the activists.
