The Church of the Holy Apostle Luke (UOC)

The UOC community of the Apostle Luke held services in premises at the Third Cherkasy City Hospital. Under pressure from local authorities, the hospital administration organized an unlawful meeting of medical staff at which the UOC community was “transferred” to the OCU.
🔴On December 17, 2025, employees of the Third Clinical Hospital in Cherkasy staged an unlawful vote to “transfer” to the OCU the UOC community of the Holy Apostle Luke, which rents premises there for conducting worship.
Neither the rector nor the parishioners were present at the meeting. The vote was organized by the hospital’s chief physician under pressure from the authorities.
“The mayor forced the chief physician to hold this meeting; nevertheless, many members of the medical staff refused to take part in this farce,” UOJ sources reported.

A church in the Cherkasy region was seized by a group of OCU militants in uniform. Nationalist groups are likely involved.
