Archimandrite Feognost (Yurash) (secular name – Volodymyr Yurash)

🔴 On April 15, 2025, the SBU conducted searches at the residence of the rector of the Holy Michael Church of the UOC in the village of Protsiv.

The priest was accused of the illegal transfer of the church building to a charitable foundation.

There was nothing illegal in this action – in reality, it was carried out in order to prevent likely raider seizures by activists of the OCU.

Under the well-established criminal scheme, in order to seize UOC church buildings, OCU clerics organize illegal “meetings” of the territorial community.

At such gatherings, people who have no relation whatsoever to the parish vote, on behalf of the religious community, for the “transfer” of the parish to the OCU. After subsequent falsification of documents and re-registration, OCU activists and clerics forcibly seize the churches.

However, when the church building is not owned by the religious organization itself, this makes the OCU’s raider scheme meaningless.

🔴 The clergyman was charged under:

-        Part 5 of Article 191 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine – misappropriation, embezzlement of property, or acquisition of property through abuse of official position, committed on an especially large scale;

-        Part 1 of Article 366 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine – official forgery.

🔴 On April 18, 2025, the court imposed a preventive measure on Father Feognost in the form of night-time house arrest.
